A special portrait

These days I've been working on a very special portrait: that of my niece.
I started from life, with her as the model, letting her presence and features guide me. I then continued with the help of a posed photograph, so I could continue working calmly and with concentration.
The painting embodies my personal exploration of color: I don't use black or white, or even natural hues. I prefer to construct light and shadow through nuances and contrasts that reflect my expressive language.
I painted in small stages, day after day, until I completed the portrait today. Looking at it finished fills me with satisfaction and gives me renewed energy to continue my artistic journey.
For me, every work is a stepping stone in my growth, a dialogue between what I see and what I feel, between reality and personal interpretation. This portrait, in particular, embodies affection, research, and passion: a true encounter between art and life.
